Traffic Publisher works with any Network Management System that collects flows (OpenView, SolarWinds, WhatsUpGold, PacketTrap, etc.)

It supports ptFlow (a simple-install standalone PacketTrap product installed on a Windows or Linux Server), NetFlow, sFlow®, and J-Flow.

Although PacketTrap solutions support industry standard traffic analysis protocols NetFlow, sFlow® and, J-Flow, over 80% of routers and switches on the market do not support one of these standards.

This means you probably cannot see traffic traversing your network at a granular level.

By leveraging PacketTrap's own patent pending ptFlow technology (which allows any router, switch, or server to behave like a NetFlow device), ptFlow reports for you the type of data clogging your bandwidth, who is consuming it, and the domains generating the data.
